Little Light and Wilson Run NAIA A-Standard Qualifying Times; Tomlin Breaks Another School Record as Battlin’ Bears Compete in the Bobcat Challenge

BOZEMAN, Mont.- Rocky Indoor Track and Field competed in the Bobcat Challenge Friday and Saturday, hosted by Montana State University. 

After Sydney Little Light ran an A-Standard qualifying time in the 3000 meters last weekend in the Myrle Hanson Open, Little Light hit another qualifying standard in the 1 mile in Bozeman, winning the women's race and finishing in 5:06.31. Freshmen Jayden Woodland and Rylie Schoenfeld finished in fifth and sixth place respectively, Woodland with a time of 5:39.14 and Schoenfeld with a time of 5:40.02. 

Jackson Wilson also ran an A-Standard NAIA qualifying time in the 1 mile race, placing second in the men's race with a finishing time of 4:19.83, just 0.7 seconds behind MSU-Billings' Ase Ackerman. Justin Glass finished in ninth place in the 1 mile race with a time of 4:44.84 and Corbyn Svec finished in 11th place with a time of 4:53.93.

The last time Braden Tomlin was in Bozeman just a month and a half ago, he broke the Rocky Indoor Track and Field record in the men's long jump. Saturday, he came back to set another school record, this time in the men's triple jump, finishing in fourth place in the prelims with a longest jump of 12.83 meters. Tomlin also finished fourth in the men's long jump, with a longest jump of 6.35 meters. 

Kellan Wahl had a good day in Bozeman, finishing in fourth place in the women's 60 meters with a time of 7.89 seconds, while also taking 10th place in the women's 200 meter with a time of 27.14 seconds. 

Jay Jetmore finished in fourth place in the men's pole vault, with a highest vault of 4.45 meters. Teammate Cameron Hone finished in seventh place with a highest vault of 4.30 meters.

The Battlin' Bears will head to Spokane, Washington next Saturday for the Inland Northwest Invitational, hosted by Whitworth University.
