Rocky Golf Sweeps Yellowjacket Invitational; Zuleta Earns Her Fourth Individual Victory of the Season

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Rocky men held onto their day one lead, while the Rocky women came from behind after a day one deficit as both teams earned team victories at Lake Hills Golf Course.

On the men's side, three Battlin' Bears scorers finished top 10, led by Jared Smith (70,73,73) and William Dexheimer (69,71,76) shot even-par 216 to tie for fifth overall. Leon Doedtmann (73,70,74) and Jake Johnson (B-Team, 73,69,75) tied for ninth overall, shooting one-over-par. Aidan McDonagh (T-18th, 70,77,74) shot five-over-par 221 and Daniel Sigurjonsson (T-23rd, 72,77,74) shot seven-over-par 223 to round out the Battlin' Bear scorers.

The Rocky men finished with a team score of three-over-par 867 to take the team victory by two strokes over host MSU Billings.

The Rocky women were led by another individual victory from Valentina Zuleta, who shot even-par 144 (74,70). Tyla Potgieter (77,74) shot seven-over-par 151 to place third, Grace Metcalf (76,78) shot 10-over-par 154 to place sixth overall, and Kadence Fischer (81,75) shot 12-over-par 156 to place seventh overall as four Battlin' Bears placed top-10 individually. Landri Paladichuk shot 18-over-par 162 (81,81) to round out the Rocky scorers.

After ending day one in third place as a team, the Battlin' Bears roared back to win the tournament by 18 strokes, shooting 29-over-par 605 as a team.

The Battlin' Bears will have one more fall competition, as they will travel to Buckeye, Arizona where they will compete in the Firestorm Invitational.
