Rocky Track and Field Competes Well at Big Sky Tuner in Bozeman

BOZEMAN, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears saw multiple personal bests and qualifying times as they competed in Bozeman at the Big Sky Tuner Friday.

Kellan Wahl had another great day, finishing in fourth place in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.86, just 0.01 second behind her school record setting time a week prior. Jenna Hillman finished in 10th place with a time of 8.28 seconds, a new personal best.

Wahl also finished in second place in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 26.69 seconds. Hillman finished in fifth place with a time of 27.99 seconds. 

Five Battlin' Bears placed top-10 in the women's 800-meter, led by Sydney Little Light's second place finish with an altitude/track adjusted time of 2:13.66, which is a new Rocky school record and an NAIA A-Standard qualifying time. Kallyn Wilkins finished in sixth place with a personal best, unadjusted time of 2:25.60, Rylie Schoenfeld finished in seventh place, Jayden Woodland finished in eighth place, and Tyne Stokes finished in ninth place.

Seth Petsch finished in fifth place in the men's 800-meter with a personal best altitude/track adjusted time of 1:54.36, which is a B-Standard NAIA qualifying time. Teammate Eric Morgan finished 13th place with a personal best unadjusted time of 2:03.74.

Chloe Bryntesen was the lone Battlin' Bear in the women's 3000-meter, finishing in ninth place with an unadjusted time of 11:41.60. 

Jackson Wilson finished in second place in the men's 3000-meter with an A-Standard NAIA qualifying altitude/track adjusted time of 8:31.32, while Justin Glass finished in 11th place with an unadjusted time of 9:15.49.

In the field events, Brooke Wirkkala finished in third place in the women's long jump with a longest jump of 5.10 meters. Wirkkala also finished in fifth place in the women's high jump with a final mark of 1.48 meters.

Jay Jetmore finished tied for second place in the men's pole vault with a highest jump of 4.66 meters, a new school record, a personal best, and an NAIA B-Standard qualifying jump. Jetmore bested his own record of 4.55 meters, which he accomplished in Bozeman earlier this season in the Bobcat PReview.

The Battlin' Bears will take off for Spearfish, South Dakota for the Stinger Open Saturday.
