Rocky Track and Field Finishes Indoor Regular Season Strong in the Stinger Open

SPEARFISH, S.D.- The Battlin' Bears wrapped up their indoor regular season in Spearfish, South Dakota on Saturday with more qualifying times and a new 4x400 meter relay school record.

All times below are unadjusted for track and altitude unless otherwise noted. Final results will be shared on gobattlinbears.com when made available.

Sydney Little Light took first place in the women's 5000-meter, finishing with an NAIA A-Standard qualifying time of 18:23.96, marking her fourth individual event that she has run a qualifying mark in this season.

Jackson Wilson also took first place in the men's 5000-meter with another NAIA A-Standard qualifying time of 15:14.68. Justin Glass finished in second place with a time of 16:19.25.

Kellan Wahl, Jenna Hillman, Rylie Schoenfeld, and Sydney Little Light combined in the 4x400 meter relay to set a new Rocky school record with an altitude/track adjusted time of 4:14.65.

Kellan Wahl took second place in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.92 seconds.

Seth Petsch took second in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 52.53 seconds.

In the field events, Brooke Wirkkala took first place in the women's triple jump with a final mark of 10.54 meters. Lauryn Frideres finished in second place with a final mark of 10.21 meters. Wirkkala also took third place in the women's high jump with a final jump of 1.48 meters.

Jay Jetmore took first place in the men's pole vault with a final mark of 4.65 meters. Cameron Hone tied for second place with a final mark of 4.48 meters.

The NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship is March 2nd-4th in Brookings, South Dakota.
