Rocky Women Tie 54-Hole School Record as Rocky Golf Competes at the ERAU Spring Invite

PRESCOTT, Ariz.- Five Battlin' Bears earned top-10 finishes led by Claire Wright's individual victory as Rocky Golf competed in Arizona on Sunday and Monday. 

The Rocky women tied the school record for a 54-Hole team score, ending with a 39-over-par 903 team total (304, 302, 297). Claire Wright led the way for the Battlin' Bears, finishing in first place with a one-under-par 215 (76, 71, 68). Valentina Zuleta finished in third place with a one-over-par 217 (72, 75, 70). Grace Metcalf finished in 10th with a 20-over-par 236 (78, 79, 79), Tyla Potgieter finished in 11th with a 24-over-par 240 (83, 77, 80), and Kadence Fischer finished in twelfth with a 25-over-par 241 (78, 79, 84). Breana Jensen competed as an individual, finishing in 23rd with a 261 total (89, 87, 85). The Battlin' Bears women finished in second place. Host school Embry Riddle-AZ took first place with a team total score of 894. 

The No.13 ranked Rocky men took a third place finish with a team total score of 857 (285, 290, 282). The Battlin' Bears were led by three top-10 finishers, as Haydn Driver finished tied for fifth with a three-under-par 213 (73, 71, 69), and William Dexheimer (69, 69, 77) and Aidan McDonagh (68, 78, 69) finished tied for ninth place with a one-under-par 215. Daniel Sigurjonsson finished tied for 22nd with a six-over-par 222 (76, 74, 72) and Nolan Burzminski finished tied for 24th with a seven-over-par 223 (75, 76, 72). Tanner Hanson competed as an individual, finishing tie for 42nd with a total of 238 (83, 79, 77). Arizona Christian finished first overall with a team total of 18-under-par 846.

The Battlin' Bears women will compete in the Bobcat Spring Invite in Arizona on April 10th and 11th, then both teams will compete in the Frontier Conference Championship meet from April 17th-19th.
