Little Light and Jetmore Set NAIA A-Standard Qualifying Marks at Yellowjackets/Battlin' Bears Open

BILLINGS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears competed against a field of NCAA DII, NAIA, and NJCAA teams at Lockwood High School Saturday, highlighted by NAIA A-Standard marks by Sydney Little Light and Jay Jetmore

Sophomore Jay Jetmore had already clinched an NAIA B-Standard mark in the Pole Vault in Rocky's previous meet at Lockwood High School. Jetmore improved upon his national qualifying and school record setting mark, by winning the Men's Pole Vault on Saturday with an A-Standard vault of 4.80 meters, which ties him for the fifth highest vault in the NAIA this season and sets a new personal record and breaks his own Rocky school record. 

Braden Tomlin took second place in the Men's Pole Vault with a vault of 4.40 meters and Cameron Hone took third place with a vault of 4.25 meters. 

Jetmore also took fifth in the Men's 100-Meter, finishing in 11.40 seconds, a new outdoor personal best. Rocky's 4x100 Meter Relay team that consisted of Jetmore, Tomlin, Hone, and Dylan Cleary took first place, finishing with a time of 43.60 seconds. 

Braden Tomlin took third place in the Men's Long Jump with a final mark of 6.56 meters, a new outdoor personal best. 

Seth Petsch and Jackson Wilson took second and third place in the Men's 800-Meter, with Petsch finishing in 1:57.67 and Wilson finishing in 1:58.24. Wilson also took second place in the Men's 1500-meters, finishing with a time of 4:02.73. 

Senior Quinlan Stewart set a new personal best, finishing in 10th place with a time of 54.36 in the Men's 400-Meter. 

Freshman Corbyn Svec finished in sixth place in the Men's 5000-Meter with a time of 17:06.86. 

Sydney Little Light made her second qualifying mark in as many competitions this season, winning the Women's 5000-Meter race with a time of 17:35.16. Little Light's altitude adjusted time of 17:21.93 ranks her sixth in the NAIA this season and sets a new Rocky school record. Little Light already holds the third fastest NAIA finish in the Women's 800-Meter this season.

Chloe Bryntesen set a new personal best with her sixth place finish in the Women's 5000-Meter, finishing in 19:52.27. 

Kellan Wahl finished in third place in the Women's 100-Meter with a time of 12.83 seconds, while freshman Jenna Hillman finished in ninth place with a time of 13.34 seconds. 

Rylie Schoenfeld and Tyne Stokes finished fifth and sixth place in the Women's 800-Meter, with Schoenfeld finishing with a time of 2:30.33 and Stokes finishing in 2:31.77. 

Kallyn Wilkins set a new personal best in the Women's 1500-Meter, finishing in eighth place with a time of 5:05.37. 

Brooke Wirkkala finished in sixth place in the Women's High Jump with a final mark of 1.52 meters and ninth place in the Women's Long Jump with a final mark of 5.19 meters. Wirkkala's finish in the Long Jump sets a new Rocky record. 

Lauryn Frideres finished in eighth place in the Women's Triple Jump with a final mark of 9.80 meters. 

Senior Allison Halverson finished in eighth place in the Women's Discus with a final mark of 33.40 meters and ninth place in the Women's Hammer Throw with a final mark of 38.42 meters. 

The Battlin' Bears men finished fifth overall, while the women finished sixth overall. 

Rocky Track and Field will be back in action next Friday, April 7th as they travel to Great Falls to compete in the University of Providence Open.
