Qualifying Times, School Records, and Personal Bests Highlight Rocky Track and Field’s Performance at the Montana Open

MISSOULA, Mont.-  Sydney Little Light ran top-10 times in the NAIA in both the 800-meter and the 1500-meter to lead the Battlin' Bears at the Montana Open.

Rocky Women's Highlights

Kellan Wahl set a new Rocky school record in the 100-meter, finishing in 12.62 seconds, giving her a 7th place finish. Wahl also took 8th place in the 200-meters finishing in 26.34 seconds. 

Sydney Little Light took first place in the 800-meter, running a season best 2:14.77, an NAIA A-Standard qualifying time. Little Light's finish is the 10th fastest time in the NAIA this season. Little Light also took first place in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:33.79, which is another NAIA A-Standard qualifying time and the fifth fastest time in the NAIA this season. 

Chloe Bryntesen finished in seventh place in the 5000-meter, finishing in 19:35.02, a new personal best and was the first Frontier Conference finisher. 

Rylie Schoenfeld finished in sixth place in the 3000-meter Steeplechase, which was run as part of the Frontier Conference Championship. Schoenfeld finished with a time of 12:52.60. 

Brooke Wirkkala finished in seventh place in the High Jump, with a mark of 1.52 meters. Wirkkala also finished in 12th place in the Long Jump, with a mark of 5.08 meters. 

Allison Halverson set a new Rocky record in the Discus, throwing 36.67 meters. 

Rocky Men's Highlights

Jackson Wilson took first place in the 1500-meter, finishing in 3:58.74, which is a season best. 

Seth Petsch and Eric Morgan each placed well in the 800-meter, as Petsch finished fourth (1:56.23) and Morgan finished eighth (2:00.12). Both times were personal bests. 

Quinlan Stewart ran a personal best 53.77 seconds in the 400-meter. 

Rocky's 4x400-meter relay team of Aiden Lantis, Jay Jetmore, Jackson Wilson, and Seth Petsch finished in 3:32.39, a new season best. 

The Battlin' Bears will now turn their attention to the upcoming Frontier Conference Championship meet, held at Lockwood High School beginning Thursday, April 27th.
