BILLINGS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears finished the meet with five individual Frontier Conference Champions as they concluded competition in the Frontier Conference Championship Meet in Lockwood.
Friday's Highlights
Braden Tomlin put together one of the best performances of the meet overall. Tomlin earned four medalist finishes over the two days of competition. After a fourth place finish in the High Jump and a second place finish in the Triple Jump on Thursday, Tomlin won the Men's Pole Vault with a NAIA B-Standard qualifying mark of 4.70 meters, a new personal best and a top-15 vault in the NAIA this season. Tomlin also finished in fifth place in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.32 meters. Tomlin accounted for 24 total points individually.

Little Light's performance on Thursday and Friday was just as impressive, as she was voted the Women's Most Valuable Track Athlete, an award voted on by the conference coaches based on individual performance at the Conference meet.
Sydney Little Light defended her 800-Meter crown on Friday, winning the event with a time of 2:15.93. Little Light was then one of four athletes to break the minute mark in the Women's 400, finishing in third place with a time of 59.68 seconds, a new personal best and a new Rocky School Record. Little Light brought one more medal home with her, taking second place in the 5,000 with a time of 18:57.54.
Rylie Schoenfeld made the podium in the Women's 400 along with Little Light, running a personal best 1:02.49 to place sixth.
Chloe Bryntesen also finished in sixth place in the Women's 5,000 with a time of 19:39.40.
Cameron Hone followed right behind Tomlin in the Men's Pole Vault, taking second place with a personal best vault of 4.55 meters.
Kellan Wahl grabbed her first individual Conference title, winning the 100-Meter dash with a time of 12.75 seconds. Jenna Hillman joined Wahl on the podium, finishing in fifth place with a time of 13.51 seconds.
Wahl also medaled in the 200, finishing in second place with a time of 26.44 seconds.
Brooke Wirkkala grabbed another second place finish, this time in the Women's Long Jump with a mark of 5.39 meters, a new personal best. Lauryn Frideres joined Wirkkala with a fifth place finish, after a personal best 5.23 meter mark.
Seth Petsch and Jackson Wilson combined for two podium finishes in the Men's 800, with Petsch finishing in a narrow second place finish (1:55.82) and Wilson finishing in fifth place (1:57.93). Wilson's mark was a new personal best.
Wilson also finished in second place in the Men's 5,000 with a time of 15:03.59.
The Battlin' Bears' Women's 4x400-Meter Relay team of Kellan Wahl, Jenna Hillman, Rylie Schoenfeld, and Kallyn Wilkins took third place with a time of 4:22.89.
The Battlin' Bears' Men's 4x400-Meter Relay team of Aiden Lantis, Quinlan Stewart, Eric Morgan, and Seth Petsch finished in third place with a time of 3:30.91.
Olivia Earling took third place in the Women's Pole Vault with a mark of 2.65 meters.
Allison Halverson medaled twice on Friday with a sixth place finish in the Shot Put (11.12 meters) and a fifth place finish in the Discus (36.14 meters).
Quinlan Stewart finished in sixth place in the Men's 400-Meter Dash with a personal best time of 53.71.
Montana Tech swept the team scores, winning the Conference Championship in both men's and women's.
The Battlin' Bears will have one more meet before the NAIA National Championship, as they will go to the Whitworth Last Chance meet on May 10th.
