GAME NOTES: Rocky Men’s Basketball Takes on Streaking Argos Thursday Evening

GREAT FALLS, Mont.- The Battlin' Bears will look to kick a three-game losing streak against the Argos, who are winners of their past three games.

Battlin' Bear Recap

The Battlin' Bears enter Thursday's matchup looking to shake a three-game losing skid, which has featured two overtime losses. 

Jesse Owens has been one of the Frontier's best players since conference play began, as he is one of three players averaging over 20 points per game in conference play. He also averages 5.4 assists per game over the first five conference games. 

Maxim Stephens is the lone player in the Frontier Conference to average double-digit rebounds, which features an impressive 4.4 offensive rebounds per game. Stephens has led the way for Rocky's 11.2 offensive rebounds per game, the top mark in the Frontier Conference. 

Luca Brooks has been a spark since being added into the starting lineup, averaging 10.0 points per game and leading the Frontier Conference averaging 2.0 steals per game in Frontier Conference play. Rocky guards have been active on defense, with five different players averaging one or more steals per game in conference games. 

The Battlin' Bear offense has continued to be a strong suit, ranking second in the Frontier in points per game in conference play (81.4), led by a conference-high 9.8 made three-pointers per game.

The Battlin' Bears won their previous matchup with the Argos, 74-64 in Billings on January 11th. The Rocky men split their games in Great Falls a season ago, winning the first matchup 76-61, before dropping the second matchup 80-67. 

The Argos bring some serious momentum into Thursday's game after handing No. 8 ranked Montana Tech their first conference loss this past Saturday. After dropping their first two conference games, Providence has won three straight games. 

Senior Davien Harris-Williams has put together some impressive statistical performances, scoring at least 17 points per game in each of his last three games while tallying 7.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists in conference play.
