Jackson Wilson Improves NAIA Best 3,000 Meter Time at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston

BOSTON, Mass.- Jackson Wilson finished the 3k in 8:07.40, marking a new personal best in Boston on Saturday evening. His new PR improves his NAIA best time and sets another Rocky school record.

Wilson competed in a field that included over 250 entries in the men's 3,000-meter at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University. The senior from Box Elder, South Dakota finished 60th overall with a new personal best of 8:07.4. His previous best of 8:08.8 that he recorded at the Stacy Dragila Open in Pocatello was already the fastest time in the NAIA this season. No other NAIA runner has finished faster than 8:10.00 in the 3,000 meters this season, while Wilson has done it twice.

He holds qualifying times in the 3,000 meters and the mile with just under three weeks until the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championship. Wilson's mile time of 4:09.87 ranks fifth in the NAIA this season.

Wilson and the Battlin' Bears will compete in their final regular season competition in Bozeman next Friday, February 16th in the Big Sky Tuner.
