Wilson Breaks Four Minute Mile; Freshmen Davis and Conrad Hit Qualifying Marks at the Big Sky Tuner Friday

BOZEMAN, Mont.- Jackson Wilson became the first NAIA runner since 2022 to break the four-minute mark in the mile, while freshmen Charlize Davis and Matthew Conrad punched their tickets to the NAIA Indoor T/F National Championship.

Qualifying Marks

Wilson finished the men's mile seventh overall with an altitude-adjusted time of 3:59.99. He is the first runner in the NAIA to break four minutes this season and the first since January 2022 (Zouhair Talbi of Oklahoma City; 3:59.5). Wilson now owns the fastest mile and fastest 3,000-meter time in the NAIA this season with less than two weeks until the NAIA Indoor T/F National Championship. His finish is a new personal best and school record.

Freshman Matthew Conrad also competed well in the mile, finishing 13th overall with a new personal best of an altitude-adjusted time of 4:15.30, a B-Standard mark just three-tenths of a second shy of an A-Standard time.

After coming close twice this season, freshman Charlize Davis broke her school record for the third time in the 60-meter hurdles with a B-Standard qualifying time of 9.02 seconds.

Other Notable Finishes

Braden Tomlin finished second overall in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.80 meters. Tomlin still owns the fourth-best vault in the NAIA this season at 4.90 meters. His finish on Friday would still place him top-10 in the NAIA.

Dakota Manecke finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.51 meters.

Drifter Skillicorn won the men's long jump with a final mark of 6.55 meters on his final jump.

Aiden Lantis, Chad Lindsey, and Carter McCauley all ran personal bests in the 60 meters. Lindsey also ran a personal best in the 200-meter dash and McCauley finished with a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles.

Vaiden Vanderploeg and Charlize Davis each ran personal bests in the 200-meters. Vanderploeg also ran a personal best in the 60-meter.

Rylie Schoenfeld ran a new personal best in the 400-meter, finishing fourth overall. Teammate Jenna Hillman finished second with a time of 1:02.05.

Maya Pearcy and Tyne Stokes paced each other to new bests in the 800-meters. Pearcy finished third overall with Stokes behind her in fourth.

Justin Glass, Beau Johnston, and Ethan Blount ran personal bests in the mile. Joseph Orndorff, Justin Glass, Corbyn Svec, Zachary Zwiesler, Connor Chase, and Eniah Boseman put together personal best performances in the 3,000-meter.

Grace Timm, Kallyn Wilkins, Taylen Stinson, and Violet Carter all finished with new bests in the mile. Timm, Wilkins, and Stinson all finished within five seconds of the B-standard mark of 5:08.00.

Rocky throwers will wrap up the regular season competition on Saturday morning in the Stinger Open. Logan Hughes, Ross Lyon, and Isabella Yellowtail will all compete in Spearfish, South Dakota.
