PREVIEW: Rocky Track and Field Competes in Helena and Dickinson Over the Weekend

BILLINGS, Mont. - Rocky Track and Field will take on the Fighting Saints Open on Friday, with a small group of steeplechasers competing in the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson.

Battlin' Bear Recap

Jackson Wilson became the second Battlin' Bear this season to clinch his spot at the NAIA Outdoor T/F National Championship in Indiana after running a B-Standard time of 31:00.31 in the men's 10k. Wilson was just a step away from an A-Standard mark (31:00.00), but his finish set a new school record and ranks 13th in the NAIA this season. Last week's time was his first career qualifying mark in the 10k.

Justin Glass and Connor Chase were the first Battlin' Bear men to compete in the 3k steeplechase since the 2021 season. Their finishes were the third and fourth-best times in program history.

Grace Timm also recorded a top-three mark in the steeple chase in program history and the best time since 2013. Her time ranks 18th in the NAIA this season as she will look to shave nine seconds off her time to make the B-standard time of 11:28.00.

Logan Hughes has continued to progress throughout his freshman season, posting the seventh-best hammer throw mark in program history in Great Falls last Thursday.

The Battlin' Bears will largely attend the Fighting Saints Open in Helena on Friday. The meet officially starts on Thursday with multi-events and the hammer throw. This is Rocky Track and Field's first of two meets in Helena this season. They will return on April 24th and 25th for the final regular-season meet of the year.

The Battlin' Bear steeplechase runners will separate from the group this weekend, competing in the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson, North Dakota.
