Rocky Track and Field Places Third at Trudnowski Open in Helena

HELENA, Mont. - Five Battlin' Bears earned individual victories as Rocky Track and Field rounded out their final competition before the Frontier Conference Championship. 

Track Highlights

Charlize Davis broke her own record in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 14.83 seconds. 

Jenna Hillman had a pair of podium finishes in Helena, taking first place in the women's 200-meters with a personal best time of 26.32 and placing second place in the women's 100-meters with a time of 13.29. Her finish in the 200 meters ties her for the second-best time in program history. 

Robby Gress won the 400-meter hurdles with a finish of 59.46 seconds. 

Grace Timm earned a victory in the women's 1,500-meters, crossing the line in 5:12.07. 

Rylie Schoenfeld took second place in the women's 400-meter hurdles in her first collegiate attempt. The sophomore crossed the line in 1:10.53 in Helena, the seventh-best finish in school history.  

Drifter Skillicorn dashed for a personal best in the men's 200-meters, finishing third overall with a time of 22.62. His time was the fourth-fastest finish in program history. Skillicorn also placed second in the 400-meter with a time of 53.28 seconds. 

Matthew Conrad, Joseph Orndorff, and Zachary Zwiesler crossed the finish line 2-3-4 in the 1,500 meters, with Conrad leading the trio of freshmen in 4:07.17. 

Carter McCauley set a new personal best in the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 16.42, placing second overall.  

Field Highlights

Brooke Wirkkala won the women's long jump with a leap of 5.31 meters, which ranks fourth in program history. Charlize Davis also made her collegiate debut in the long jump, placing third with a final mark of 5.01 meters. 

Drifter Skillicorn recorded a personal best in the men's long jump, taking second overall with a final mark of 6.42 meters, which ranks third in school history. 

Hannah Christman placed third in the women's pole vault with a final mark of 2.90 meters. 

Team Results

The Rocky men and women finished third overall, with a limited group on both sides. The Battlin' Bear men scored 61 team points, with the women scoring 69. Host school Carroll College swept the Trudnowski Open.

The Battlin' Bears look ahead to the Frontier Conference Championships in Butte, beginning Sunday, May 5th.
