Hughes Records Top-10 Mark in Program History to Highlight Argo Open Finish

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - Freshman Logan Hughes placed third in the men's hammer with the seventh-best mark in school history as Rocky throwers competed in Great Falls Thursday.

Logan Hughes and Ross Lyon were the lone competitors for the Battlin' Bears in Great Falls. 

In the men's hammer throw, Hughes recorded a top-10 mark in program history for the second consecutive week after tallying a final mark of 43.15 meters to finish third overall. He tied Michael Lee (2019) for the seventh-best mark in Battlin' Bear outdoor history. Lyon threw an outdoor best of 41.70 meters to place fourth. 

Lyon recorded another personal best in the men's discus, finishing seventh with a final mark of 36.84 meters.

Hughes finished seventh in the men's shot put, with Lyon following in eighth.
