Clerice Earns Victory in Opening Races for Rocky Ski Racing

SNOWKING, Wyo.- Sophomore Jules Clerice kicked off the Battlin' Bear season with an individual slalom victory at the Wild West FIS races in Wyoming on Wednesday.  

Men's Results

Sophomore Jules Clerice led the way on the first day of the 2026 season, placing first overall in the men's slalom with a total time of 1:33.00. He recorded the fastest first run of the field in 46.85 seconds, before following it up with a 46.15-second finish on the second run. Freshman Nick Tibro made his collegiate debut with a 20th-place finish, totaling a time of 1:37.93 (50.86 / 47.07). 

Women's Results

Freshman Linnea Olesen was the top placer for the Rocky women on the first day of Giant Slalom competition, finishing 16th with an overall time of 1:48.48 (55.05 / 53.43). Elisabeth Grimkelsrud finished 22nd with a total time of 1:49.81, with Klara Almqvist (32nd; 1:54.45) and Jenny Sjøtun (33rd; 1:54.79) following. Franziska Bonn rounded out the Battlin' Bear finishers in 35th place with a total time of 1:55.72.

The Battlin' Bear men continue with a second day of slalom action, and the Rocky women compete another day in the giant slalom on Thursday.
