Rocky Men and Women Take Sixth at the Frontier Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D.- John Spinti, Charlize Davis, and Maya Pearcy all earned individual conference titles on day two, highlighting four conference champions and nine All-Conference efforts, leading the Rocky men and women to sixth-place finishes in Brookings.  

Men's Notable Results

John Spinti earned his second conference title in as many days, racing to a victory in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 8:25.12, a 'B' Standard time, and the 12th-best time in the NAIA this season. Zachary Zwiesler also earned All-Conference honors with a third-place finish in 8:40.63. Corbyn Svec followed in fourth with a time of 8:43.82.  

Freshman Keenan Morris earned All-Conference honors in the pole vault, leaping a mark of 4.75 meters (15 feet, 7 inches), matching his season-best at a 'B' Standard and ranking inside the top 15 in the NAIA this season. Travis Caton followed in seventh place with a mark of 4.00 meters (13 feet, 1.5 inches). 

Morris also set a new program record in the men's high jump, leaping a mark of 1.94 meters (6 feet, 4.25 inches), to place fourth overall. 

Ryan LaMere earned a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter finals with a time of 7.02 seconds. 

Caleb Tomac dashed to a personal best in the mile, placing fourth overall with a time of 4:20.34. 

Rocky's 4x400-meter relay team of Aidan Lantis, Ryan LaMere, Jack Phelps, and Drifter Skillicorn placed fourth overall with a time of 3:23.54, a new program record. 

After qualifying for the finals, Taycen Genatone finished sixth overall in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.74 seconds. 

Ryan LaMere and Drifter Skillicorn finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the men's 200-meter. 

Caleb Tomac placed seventh in the men's 800-meter with a time of 1:58.54.

Raynor Ranum took eighth overall in the shotput with a toss of 15.05 meters (49 feet, 4.5 inches). 

The Battlin' Bears placed sixth overall with a team score of 84. Dickinson State earned the team title, totaling 134.5 points. 
 
Women's Notable Results

Maya Pearcy cruised to a dominant victory in the 800-meter, crossing the line in 2:10.74, improving her program record and her 'A' Standard time. She now holds the third-best time in the NAIA this season. 

After recording the fastest time in the prelims, Charlize Davis won the 60-meter hurdles title on Sunday, crossing the line in 8.76 seconds, tying the second-best time in program history and tying her season best.

Davis also earned All-Conference honors in the 60-meter dash, placing third with a time of 7.88 seconds. 

Brooke Wirkkala took fourth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1.25 inches). 

Jayden Woodland placed fifth in the mile with a personal best of 5:20.24. 

The Battlin' Bear women placed sixth overall with a team score of 48. Dickinson State earned a team title with an overall score of 144.

Rocky Track and Field now prepares for the NAIA Indoor T/F National Championships, hosted in Gainesville, Florida, starting on March 7th.
