HELENA, Mont. –  Making school history, the women's track and field team broke two school records while competing at the Trudnowski Open.

In a field of four Frontier teams, both of Rocky's track and field teams finished in second ahead of Montana Western and Providence, but behind Carroll College. In the team rankings, the men ended with a score of 40 while the women finished with 33. The Battlin' Bears recorded five first place finishes.

In the women's 4x100 relay, Carrie Cota, Selina Angel, Jatinas Sattoriva, and Bailey Bard combined for a time of 51.73. Their finish breaks the school record set at the Battlin' Bears/Yellowjackets Open in March by a hundredth of a second. The four finished in third.

Finishing in first, Morgan Allen broke her own school record in the women's high jump with a height of 1.55m/5'1".

Angel finished first in the women's 100m hurdles, ahead of Allen, with a time of 17.03. 

In the women's 800m, Cota ran a personal best time of 2:23.32 to finish in first. Teammate Corinne Hamilton ended the event in third with a time of 2:29.75. In the men's 800m, Joseph Vanden Bos finished second with a time of 1:56.56. 

George Beddow took first in a field of seven during the men's 1500m with a time of 4:11.22. Teammate Elijah Boyd finished right behind him in second at 4:13.81. Jackson Duffey took third at 4:21.40.

Bridger Kimber took first in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.20m/13'9.25".

Ruth Chepsat took second for the women's 5000m on a time of 18:32.07. She finished behind only Montana Western's Mindy Kaufman who earned a NAIA B-Qualifying mark on a time of 17:58.45.

With a time of 27.04, Bard placed second in the women's 200m. John Bass placed second for the men's 200m with a time of 23.18.

Gino Giovagnoli finished third in the men's 400m after running a time of 52.05. Sabrina Wolcott took third in the women's long jump with a distance of 4.64m/15'2.75".

Rocky's Nick Moore finished third in Rocky inaugural decathlon with 5,131 points.
