Rocky Mountain College Women’s Basketball Adds Transfer Adonica Baca-Martinez to Roster

Billings, Mont- Adonica Baca-Martinez, a 5-foot-7 guard, has agreed to join the Rocky Mountain College women's basketball program, Battlin' Bears coach Wes Keller announced Wednesday.

Originally from Sante Fe, New Mexico, Baca-Martinez is transferring from Trinidad State Junior College, Trinidad, Colorado, where she averaged 15 points, five rebounds and two steals for the Trojans this season. As a sophomore, Baca-Martinez shot 80-percent from the free throw line and connected on 66 3-point shots.

"Adonica is a proven scorer at the collegiate level, has great shooting range and can get to the basket and finish," Keller said of Baca-Martinez.

"She is a high-character addition to our program. She plays hard at both ends and will do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. We look forward to having her on campus this fall."

Baca-Martinez plans to study biology and intends to enter Rocky's Physician Assistant program upon graduation. She enters Rocky with a 3.5 GPA, and is the daughter of Diego Baca and Athena Martinez

"In the little time that I've known the women's basketball coaching staff, they have made me feel welcome and excited since day one. I felt that this was the best decision for me both academically and athletically," Baca-Martinez said of her decision.
